The
concept of a Virginia statewide ophthalmic personnel organization was introduced
in 1991. The purpose was to benefit, through education, as many ophthalmic
technicians and office personnel in the state as possible. At that time,
there existed several very successful local ophthalmic groups in Virginia.
These local groups have been active for years offering ophthalmic education
to their members.
The
Virginia Society of Ophthalmic Medical Personnel continues this tradition
on
a statewide scale. Not all VSOMP members are technicians requiring CE credit.
